Basketball Game Preview: Smoky Hill Buffaloes vs. Overland Trailblazers

The Smoky Hill Buffaloes will take on the Overland Trailblazers at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Smoky Hill came into their game on Friday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They had to suffer through a 65-15 loss at the hands of Grandview. The Buffaloes were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 44-2.

Yamani Perez was Smoky Hill's leading scorer, having posted four points.

Meanwhile, Overland was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. The contest between them and Cherokee Trail didn't end well, with Overland falling 60-46. While losing is never fun, the Trailblazers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 55th, while the Cougars are ranked ninth).

Smoky Hill has been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-14 record this season. As for Overland, their loss dropped their record down to 11-8.
