Plainview came into their game on Tuesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against the Lutheran-Northeast Eagles, falling 3-0. The Pirates' defeat signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.

While Plainview ultimately came up short, they really made Lutheran-Northeast work, particularly in the third set. The final score came out to 25-14, 25-13, 29-27.

Kara Lingenfelter paced Plainview's offense, picking up seven kills. Lingenfelter got some help from Mallory Mauer and her 14 assists. Pressley Alexander controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Lutheran-Northeast found their leader in sophomore Ava Baumgartel, who had eight digs and three aces. Those three aces set a new season-high mark for Baumgartel.

Plainview's loss dropped their record down to 13-6. As for Lutheran-Northeast, their win bumped their record up to 9-15.

Plainview wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 3-0 victory against Osmond on the 9th. As for Lutheran-Northeast, they have also already played their next match, a 2-0 defeat against Wisner-Pilger on the 9th.
