Softball Recap: Sequoyah Chiefs vs. Alcoa Tornadoes

Sequoyah extended their losing streak to six on Tuesday, dropping them down to 3-13. They lost 14-1 to the Alcoa Tornadoes. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Tornadoes this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 11-0 back in March.

As for Alcoa, they pushed their record up to 22-2 with the victory, which was their sixth straight on the road. Considering they have won 15 contests by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

For Alcoa's part, Grayson Burgess was a standout: she went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most runs Burgess has posted since back in May of 2025. The team also got some help courtesy of Madyson Stewart (CHATT STATE), who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run and three RBI.

Looking ahead, Sequoyah will venture away from home to square off against Tellico Plains at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Alcoa, they will face off against Maryville at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
