Douglass waltzed into their game on Wednesday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They blew past the Lewis Falcons 19-1. The result was nothing new for the Ducks, who have now won six matchups by nine runs or more so far this season.

Wilner Vergel-Rivero was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out 12 batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one hit any time he's pitched this season. He was also big at the plate, going a perfect 4-for-4 with six RBI, two stolen bases, and two runs.

Douglass' victory bumped their record up to 7-1. As for Lewis, they are on a four-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Coming up, Douglass will look to defend their home field on Friday against City College at 3:45 p.m. As for Lewis, they will hit the road for the first time this season to take on Digital Harbor at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday.
