Baseball Game Preview: Weaver Bearcats vs. Donoho Falcons

The Weaver Bearcats will square off against the Donoho Falcons at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.

Weaver fell victim to Comer and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They fell just short of the Tigers by a score of 1-0. Having soared to a lofty 14 runs in the game before, the Bearcats' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Weaver saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Connor Hyatt, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one stolen base. That stolen base marked the first that Hyatt stole this season.

Meanwhile, everything went Donoho's way against Randolph County on Tuesday as Donoho made off with a 16-4 victory.

Weaver's loss was their 14th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Donoho, the win got them back to even at 1-1.

Weaver couldn't quite finish off Donoho in their previous matchup back in March of 2022 and fell 6-4. Can Weaver avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
