Volleyball Game Preview: Fossil Ridge SaberCats vs. Poudre Impalas + How To Watch

Fossil Ridge is a perfect 10-0 against Poudre since September of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The SaberCats will be playing at home against the Impalas at 6:00 p.m. Fossil Ridge will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.

Fossil Ridge is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Colorado's top teams: Windsor, who was ranked 12th at the time (Fossil Ridge was ranked first). The SaberCats were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Wizards on Thursday.

Fossil Ridge's got stronger as the match went on, holding Windsor to fewer and fewer points set over set. The final score came out to 27-25, 25-22, 25-19.

Fossil Ridge can attribute much of their success to Trinity Burchett, who had 12 digs and four assists. That's the most digs Burchett has posted over her last eight matchups.

Meanwhile, Poudre came up short against Loveland on Thursday, falling 3-0. The Impalas have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

Poudre was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the first set very close. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 25-17, 25-18.

Poudre's loss dropped their record down to 12-8. As for Fossil Ridge, their win bumped their record up to 17-2.

Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Tuesday's match: Fossil Ridge has really dialed in their serving this season, having averaged 8.2 aces per game. However, it's not like Poudre struggles in that department as they've been averaging 6.2 aces. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
