Volleyball Game Preview: Winside Wildcats vs. Walthill Blujays

Winside is a perfect 10-0 against Walthill since September of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Wildcats will be playing at home against the Blujays. Walthill took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Winside, who comes in off a win.

Winside will bounce into Thursday's match after beating Wausa, who they had gone 1-8 against in their nine prior meetings. The Wildcats were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Vikings on Tuesday. The contest marked the Wildcats' most dominant win of the season.

Winside never let Wausa on the board, but things got pretty close in the first set. The match finished with set scores of 27-25, 25-17, 25-18.

Meanwhile, Walthill was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They lost 3-0 to Randolph.

While Walthill was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Randolph's winning margin in every set. The final score came out to 25-18, 25-23, 27-25.

Winside's victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-7. As for Walthill, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-9.

Winside beat Walthill 3-1 when the teams last played back in September of 2024. Will the Wildcats repeat their success, or do the Blujays have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
