Israel Gonzalez leads Hanks to victory over Parkland

Recap: Hanks Knights vs. Parkland Matadors

The Hanks Knights scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. Everything went their way against Parkland as Hanks made off with a 64-44 victory. The victory was familiar territory for Hanks who now have six in a row.

Israel Gonzalez was his usual excellent self, scoring 24 points along with three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Martin Gomez, who scored seven points along with five assists and two steals.

Several Matadors players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Anthony Allen, who scored eight points along with three steals. Josiah Jones was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with six rebounds.

Hanks pushed their record up to 16-13 with that win, which was their fourth straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.5 points per game. As for Parkland, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-19.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hanks will stay at home for another game and welcome Ysleta at 6:00 p.m. on February 6th. Hanks has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Parkland, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Horizon at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Parkland is facing Horizon at the right time seeing as Horizon is stuck on a nine-game losing streak.
