Clinton had already won six in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 14.7 runs) and they went ahead and made it seven on Monday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 10-8 victory over the Whitmire Wolverines. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Red Devils have posted since April 25, 2024.

Clinton pushed their record up to 11-8-1 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.6 runs on average over those games. As for Whitmire, their loss dropped their record down to 13-6.

Looking ahead, Clinton will challenge Eau Claire at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Shamrocks have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 18 runs per game on average), something the Red Devils will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Whitmire, they will square off against Abbeville at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
