Volleyball Game Preview: Oaks Christian Lions vs. Newbury Park Panthers

Oaks Christian is 2-7 against Newbury Park since April of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Lions will head out to face off against the Panthers at 6:30 p.m.

Oaks Christian came into their game on Wednesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against Thousand Oaks, falling 3-0.

Oaks Christian took the loss but they managed to make steady progress, increasing their score in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-15, 25-19, 25-21.

Meanwhile, Newbury Park can bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Wednesday. They walked away with a 3-1 victory over Agoura.

Newbury Park had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The final score came out to 23-25, 25-22, 27-25, 25-19.

Newbury Park's win bumped their record up to 5-16. As for Oaks Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-15.

Oaks Christian couldn't quite get it done against Newbury Park in their previous matchup back in March as they fell 3-1. Can the Lions avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
