Baseball Game Preview: Sumner Stingrays vs. Lennard Longhorns

The Sumner Stingrays will head out to challenge the Lennard Longhorns at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Sumner will be strutting in after a victory while Lennard will be coming in after a defeat.

On Saturday, Sumner earned a 7-2 win over Blake.

Christian Duncan looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He also put up a strikeout, which was his first of the season.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Jaylin Chambers, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 3-for-3. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in RBI (two). Sebastian Peralta was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 27 runs the game before, Lennard was a bit more limited in their game on Saturday. They came up short against Strawberry Crest, falling 8-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Longhorns have suffered since March 6th.

Lennard's defeat dropped their record down to 7-11. As for Sumner, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 8-10.
