Baseball Recap: Era Comes Up Short

Era couldn't beat Perrin-Whitt on Monday even though they stacked five runs on them in the third inning. The Hornets lost 17-7 to the Pirates. The Hornets were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Pirates apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in March of 2025.

Jake Stevens and Zane Shivers stepped up to the plate in a big way. Stevens went 1-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run, while Shivers got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.

This is the second loss in a row for Era and nudges their season record down to 1-2.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Era is set to face off against their familiar foe Bellevue at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Perrin-Whitt will challenge rival Chico at 6:00 p.m. on the 19th.
