Soccer Game Preview: Springfield vs. East Robertson

The Springfield Yellow Jackets will take on the East Robertson Indians at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.

Having struggled with three defeats in a row, Springfield turned things around against Portland on Thursday. They and the Panthers finished up their match with a 0-0 draw. The result (or lack thereof) marked Springfield's first draw of the season.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask East Robertson). They were the clear victors by a 7-1 margin over Waverly Central on Tuesday. The high-scoring effort was just what East Robertson needed considering they were shut out in their previous matchup.

Springfield's draw makes their record 1-6-1 this season. As for East Robertson, their victory bumped their record up to 5-3.

Springfield got the 'W' when the teams last played back in March of 2023 against East Robertson by a conclusive 8-1 score. Will the Yellow Jackets repeat their success, or do the Indians have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
