Softball Game Preview: Abraham Lincoln Railsplitters vs. George Washington Eagles

The Abraham Lincoln Railsplitters will head out on the road to challenge the George Washington Eagles at 3:15 p.m. on Monday. Abraham Lincoln has given up an average of 11.5 runs per game this season, but Monday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

On Thursday, Abraham Lincoln came up short against Northeast and fell 15-12.

Meanwhile, George Washington earned a 5-2 victory over Science Leadership Academy on Thursday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Eagles.

George Washington saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Riley Devlin, who went 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI. Another was Yamaily Madera Martinez, who went 1-for-4 with one home run and three RBI.

George Washington pushed their record up to 4-1 with the win, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.0 runs over those games. As for Abraham Lincoln, their loss dropped their record down to 2-2.

Abraham Lincoln suffered a grim 11-1 defeat to George Washington in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. Can the Railsplitters avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
