Football Game Preview: Southeast Pirates vs. LaBrae Vikings

The Southeast Pirates will head out to challenge the LaBrae Vikings at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Southeast has given up an average of 30.6 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Southeast came up short against Brookfield on Friday, falling 44-20. The Pirates gained 185 more yards on the day, but it was the Warriors that made the best use of them.

Despite the defeat, Southeast saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Tyler Shaw rushed for 97 yards, and also threw for 91 yards and one TD.

Meanwhile, LaBrae was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Friday as they fell 34-28 to Liberty. The loss continues a trend for the Vikings in their meetings with the Leopards: they've now lost four in a row.

The defeat was their first on the road , dropping their record down to 4-4. As for Southeast, their loss dropped their record down to 3-5.

Southeast couldn't quite get it done against LaBrae in their previous meeting back in October of 2024 as they fell 20-7. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of the Vikings' Easton Armstrong, who rushed for 190 yards and one touchdown while picking up 10.6 yards per carry. Now that the Pirates know the damage he can cause, will they be able to stop him this time? There's only one way to find out.
