Flag Football Game Preview: Escondido Charter Tigers vs. Coastal Academy Stingrays

The Escondido Charter Tigers will head out to square off against the Coastal Academy Stingrays at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams are coming into the matchup red-hot, with Escondido Charter sitting on seven straight victories and Coastal Academy on four.

Escondido Charter is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. Their defense stepped up to hand Orange Glen a 60-0 shutout on Tuesday. Given the Tigers' advantage in MaxPreps' California flag football rankings (they are ranked 117th, while the Patriots are ranked 747th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Coastal Academy's rock-solid defense showed up for the team's third consecutive shutout on Monday. They blew past Tri-City Christian, posting a 44-0 win. The Stingrays might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four contests by 32 points or more this season.

Escondido Charter's victory bumped their record up to 14-2. As for Coastal Academy, their win bumped their record up to 4-7.

Escondido Charter was able to grind out a solid victory over Coastal Academy in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, winning 18-6. Do the Tigers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Stingrays turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
