Softball Game Preview: McComb Tigers vs. Franklin County Bulldogs

McComb hasn't had much luck against Franklin County recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Tigers' homestand will continue as they prepare to take on the Bulldogs at 6:15 p.m. One thing working in McComb's favor is that they have posted at least ten runs in their last three contests.

Having struggled with five defeats in a row, McComb turned things around against Amite County on Monday. They blew past the Trojans 21-9.

The team relied heavily on Damiyah Walker, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-3. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in RBI (two).

McComb always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .829. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Meanwhile, after some red-hot attacks at the plate in their last four matches, Franklin County finally came back down to earth on Monday. They came up short against Wesson, falling 11-1. The Bulldogs' loss signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Franklin County's defeat dropped their record down to 9-7. As for McComb, the victory got them back to even at 7-7-1.

McComb might still be hurting after the 21-2 loss they got from Franklin County in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Can the Tigers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
