Basketball Recap: Make It 13 in a Row for Fostoria Baptist Academy

Fostoria Baptist Academy had already won 12 in a row dating back to last season (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 32.4 points) and they went ahead and made it 13 on Monday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Juniata Christian Eagles 58-17. With the Crusaders ahead 37-11 at the half, the match was all but over already.

Despite the loss, Juniata Christian still got an impressive performance from Nathan Wright, who posted eight points and seven rebounds. The dominant performance also gave Wright a new career-high in blocks (two).

Fostoria Baptist Academy's win was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 2-0. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.8 points per game. As for Juniata Christian, they are on a nine-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Fostoria Baptist Academy will venture away from home to square off against Immanuel Baptist at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Juniata Christian, they will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Faith Christian at 6:30 p.m. on January 7, 2025.
