Football Game Preview: Haughton Buccaneers vs. Captain Shreve Gators + How To Watch

Haughton and Captain Shreve are an even 5-5 against one another since November of 2015, but not for long. The Buccaneers will head out on the road to take on the Gators at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Haughton is coming into the contest on a six-game losing streak.

On Friday, Haughton was beaten by Evangel Christian Academy 63-27. While losing is never fun, the Buccaneers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana football rankings (they are ranked 135th, while the Eagles are ranked 20th).

Meanwhile, Captain Shreve didn't have quite enough to beat Parkway on Friday and fell 45-42. While the Gators had to settle for second, they closed the game well in the third quarter, where they outscored the Panthers 7-3.

Haughton's loss dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Captain Shreve, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-4.

Haughton took a serious blow against Captain Shreve in their previous meeting back in November of 2024, falling 63-34. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of the Gators' Jamarcea Plater, who rushed for 145 yards and four scores on only 15 carries, and also picked up 66 receiving yards and one touchdown.
