Softball Recap: Griffith Beats Hammond Bishop Noll for Their Third Straight Win

Griffith lost to Hammond Bishop Noll back in April of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Monday. The Panthers came out on top against the Warriors by a score of 6-1. The win was nothing new for the Panthers as they're now sitting on three straight.

Brylie Bridges was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 13 over seven innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than 13 strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one triple and one run.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Nevaeh Vargas, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. Cheyanne Fant was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Griffith was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .387. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive matchups.

Griffith's record now sits at 10-5. As for Hammond Bishop Noll, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-6.
