Basketball Game Preview: Word of God Academy Force vs. Prairie View Academy Spartans

The Word of God Academy Force will head out on the road to challenge the Prairie View Academy Spartans at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

On Tuesday, Word of God Academy was fully in charge, breezing past Mount Olive Christian 70-11. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Force.

Zyere Cartwright had an outrageously good game as he shot 50% from the field to rack up 20 points and three steals. The matchup was his third in a row with at least 20 points. Another player making a difference was Isaiah Thermidor, who posted ten points and seven steals.

Meanwhile, Prairie View Academy had to kick off their season on the road on Monday, but they showed no ill effects. They breezed past Mount Olive Christian to the tune of 74-10. The Spartans haven't had any issues with Mount Olive Christian recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.

Word of God Academy didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Prairie View Academy in their previous meeting back in December of 2024, but they still walked away with a 56-50 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Force since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
