Baseball Recap: Union Mine Beats Amador for Their Third Straight Win

Union Mine waltzed into their game on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They came out on top against the Amador Buffaloes by a score of 8-4. That's more bragging rights for the Diamondbacks, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Andrew Schurmann was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He struck out six batters over seven innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off eight hits (and only one walk). He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 2-for-4. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in doubles (two).

In other batting news, Matt Manfredi was a standout: he scored a run while going 3-for-4. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Nate Gregson was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.

Union Mine kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

Union Mine's record now sits at 6-9. As for Amador, they now have a losing record of 8-9-1.
