Soccer Recap: Hillsboro Comes Up Short

Hillsboro fought the good fight in their overtime match against Carlinville on Monday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell 2-0 to the Cavaliers. Hillsboro were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Carlinville apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Hillsboro dropped their record down to 6-7 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road. As for Carlinville, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 12-5.

Coming up, Hillsboro will face off against Wesclin at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hillsboro are facing Wesclin at the right time seeing as Wesclin are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Carlinville, they will square off against Pleasant Plains/New Berlin at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
