Warrensburg-Latham hasn't had much luck against Shelbyville recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Cardinals will challenge the Rams at 4:30 p.m. Warrensburg-Latham is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.1 runs per game this season.

While Warrensburg-Latham's win against Athens wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Cardinals skirted past the Warriors 12-10. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for the Cardinals, who until this game were averaging 3.54 runs allowed.

Kristopher Lawson was incredible, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. That's the most RBI he has posted over his last ten matches. The team also got some help courtesy of Dawson Waterhouse, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Shelbyville had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8.8 runs) and they went ahead and made it five on Friday. They came out on top against the Raiders by a score of 7-2. Seven seems to be a good number for the Rams as the squad scooped up a victory with the same number of runs in their previous game.

Warrensburg-Latham's win was their seventh straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 21-3. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Shelbyville, their record now sits at 14-5.

Warrensburg-Latham came out on top in a nail-biter against Shelbyville when the teams last played back in April, sneaking past 4-3. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Cardinals since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
