Christ's Church Academy took a loss when they played away from home on Thursday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Monday. Everything went their way against Old Plank Christian Academy as Christ's Church Academy made off with a 12-2 win.
Isla Kruayai was a major factor no matter where she played. She struck out eight batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits. Kruayai was also solid in the batter's box, scoring three runs while going 3-for-3.
In other batting news, Ella Springer was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-3. Madison Rutherford was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.
Christ's Church Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .462. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Old Plank Christian Academy only posted a batting average of .150.
Meanwhile, it was close, but on Tuesday Harvest Community sidestepped Old Plank Christian Academy for a 2-1 victory.
Harvest Community saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Hadley Clifton, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2.
Harvest Community pushed their record up to 2-1 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 12.2 runs. As for Christ's Church Academy, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.
Thursday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Christ's Church Academy hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having got 0 of their hits per game. However, it's not like Harvest Community struggles in that department as they've got 0 of their hits this season. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
