Softball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for J.F. Webb

J.F. Webb waltzed into their matchup on Thursday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They never let the Durham School of the Arts Bulldogs get on the board and left with an 18-0 win. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 20-7 on Tuesday.

Terrie Thornton was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances. She was even better at the plate, firing off two home runs, seven RBI, and three runs while going 3-for-3. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, Makayla Jennings and Simone Ovando did most of the damage at the plate: Jennings got on base in all three of her plate appearances with two runs and one double, while Ovando got on base in all three of her plate appearances with two runs and one double. Alyasia Brown also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

J.F. Webb hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Durham School of the Arts struck out six times.

J.F. Webb pushed their record up to 8-4 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for Durham School of the Arts, they are on a 29-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-13.
