Basketball Recap: Make It Four in a Row for San Juan Hills

San Clemente came into Wednesday's contest looking for another win against San Juan Hills, but Mason Hodges wouldn't allow it. The San Juan Hills Stallions walked away with a 77-66 victory over the San Clemente Tritons on Wednesday thanks in part to Hodges, who shot 6-for-8 from downtown and dropped a double-double on 38 points and ten rebounds. The match was his 14th in a row with at least ten points.

Defeat or not, San Clemente got some senior leadership from Porter Hansen and Christian Fernandez. Hansen went 6 of 11 from beyond the arc en route to 29 points and three steals, while Fernandez went 9 for 20 on his way to 25 points. Another player making a difference was Braeden Baggs, who posted five points and five boards.

The win was the fourth in a row for San Juan Hills, bringing their record for this year to 17-7. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 74.3 points per game. As for San Clemente, they moved to 18-5 with that loss, which also ended their seven-game winning streak.

San Juan Hills will face off against Los Amigos at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Los Amigos is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 55.8 points per game this season. As for San Clemente, they will challenge Tesoro at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
