Recap: Panther Valley Panthers vs. Weatherly

The Panther Valley Panthers scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They enjoyed a cozy 80-65 victory over Weatherly. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.

Logan Fisher continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 24 points along with five rebounds. That's the first time this season that he scored 15 or more points. Stephen Hood was another key contributor, scoring 16 points along with eight rebounds.

Weatherly lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Ian Mckeegan, who scored 16 points along with seven assists and five rebounds. The matchup was Mckeegan's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Austyn Lamonica, who scored 15 points along with five steals.

Panther Valley's win bumped their record up to 6-4. As for Weatherly, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-9.

Panther Valley and Tamaqua will face off at 7:00 p.m. on January 8th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Hopefully Tamaqua focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up ten on Thursday. As for Weatherly, they will look to defend their home court on Monday against Shenandoah Valley at 7:30 p.m. Shenandoah Valley is hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses.
