Softball Recap: Lawrenceburg Has No Trouble Against South Dearborn

Lawrenceburg's game on Monday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Wednesday. They blew past the South Dearborn Knights 14-4. The result was nothing new for the Tigers, who have now won eight matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Jayni Wesley spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and one unearned) runs on eight hits and racked up six Ks. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than one walk in six consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Jill Cavanaugh was a standout: she went a perfect 4-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and two doubles. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April. Izabella Miller was another key player, going 3-for-4 with three doubles, three RBI, and one run.

Lawrenceburg's victory bumped their record up to 13-8. As for South Dearborn, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-12.

Coincidentally, Lawrenceburg and South Dearborn will both be playing Greensburg the next time they take the field. The Tigers will host the Pirates at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, while the Knights will host them at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
