Recap: Kathleen Red Devils vs. Bishop Moore Hornets
The Kathleen Red Devils lost against the Bishop Moore Hornets back in November of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Kathleen took a serious blow against Bishop Moore, falling 49-14. Kathleen was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 42-14.
It was another big night for Bjorn Jurgensen, who threw for 220 yards and five touchdowns while completing 84.6% of his passes. Jurgensen is on a roll when it comes to passing touchdowns, as he's now passed for three or more in the last three games he's played. Kenyon Alston was another key contributor, picking up 37 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Kathleen's loss was their eighth straight at home (dating back to last season), which bumped their record down to 1-9. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 14-0 Lakeland and 8-3 Sebring (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 62.7% over those games). As for Bishop Moore, the victory (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 7-3.
Kathleen does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Bishop Moore will be playing at home against ED White at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. ED White is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
