Basketball Game Preview: Manville Mustangs vs. Roselle Park Panthers

The Manville Mustangs will head out to square off against the Roselle Park Panthers at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Given that both suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

Last Tuesday, Manville was beaten by Bound Brook 54-24. While losing is never fun, the Mustangs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New Jersey basketball rankings (they are ranked 283rd, while the Crusaders are ranked 93rd).

Meanwhile, Roselle Park unfortunately witnessed the end of their nine-game winning streak dating back to last season last Tuesday. The match between them and Bernards didn't end well, with Roselle Park falling 50-35. The contest marked the Panthers' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Manville's loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-7. As for Roselle Park, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 8-1.

Manville was able to grind out a solid victory over Roselle Park in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, winning 50-40. The rematch might be a little tougher for Manville since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
