Soccer Game Preview: Cane Bay vs. James Island

Cane Bay is 1-8 against James Island since March of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Cobras will head out on the road to face off against the Trojans at 6:00 p.m. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Cane Bay comes in on four and James Island on 13.

Cane Bay is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Carolina Forest 2-1.

Eiliyah Tomes and Claire Orth scored both of Cane Bay's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 45 goals.

The home team had come away the winner the last four times James Island and Fort Dorchester had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Trojans' defense stepped up to hand the Patriots a 2-0 shutout last Wednesday. Give James Island's defense some credit: that's the team's eighth straight shutout.

Cane Bay's victory bumped their record up to 14-5. As for James Island, they pushed their record up to 16-2 with the win, which was their sixth straight on the road.

Cane Bay was able to grind out a solid victory over James Island when the teams last played back in February, winning 2-0. Will the Cobras repeat their success, or do the Trojans have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
