Baseball Recap: United Finds Playoff Glory Versus Johnson

It's playoff time, and United had no trouble coming through when it counted. They came out on top against the Johnson Jaguars by a score of 9-5 on Thursday.

The team relied heavily on Michael Guerra, who went 3-for-5 with three RBI and one double. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Juan Charles, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.

United has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-11 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.5 runs on average over those games. As for Johnson, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 19-10.

United will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Jaguars: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
