Soccer Recap: Elberta Takes a Loss

After flying high against Rain last Tuesday, Elberta came back down to earth. The Warriors came up short against the St. Michael Catholic Cardinals on Thursday, falling 10-2. While losing is never fun, Elberta can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama soccer rankings (they are ranked 130th, while St. Michael Catholic are ranked 28th).

Elberta's defeat dropped their record down to 10-12-2. As for St. Michael Catholic, their win was their seventh straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-1-3.

Coincidentally, Elberta and St. Michael Catholic will both be playing St. Paul's Episcopal the next time they take the pitch. The Warriors will head out to face the Saints at 5:30 p.m. on Friday, while the Cardinals will head out to face them at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
