Football Recap: Oakridge Piles Up the Points Against Cistercian

Oakridge hadn't done well against Cistercian recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Owls breezed past the Hawks to the tune of 60-21. Considering the Owls have won three matches by more than 35 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Oakridge's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Luke Dearman, who threw for 98 yards and two touchdowns.

Oakridge was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 214 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 153 rushing yards in six consecutive games dating back to last season.

Oakridge didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Elijah Bly, Will Lemonds, and Caleb Walton picked up one apiece. Lemonds is crushing it when it comes to interceptions: he's snagged at least one every time he's taken the field this season.

Oakridge pushed their record up to 4-0 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 48.5 points this season. As for Cistercian, they are on a six-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.
