Basketball Recap: Faith Lutheran Find Success

Faith Lutheran posted their closest victory since December 2nd on Thursday. They skirted past the Spanish Fork Dons 62-59. Given the Crusaders' advantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 20th in Nevada, while the Dons are ranked 83rd in Utah), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Despite the loss, Spanish Fork still got an impressive performance from Gage Christensen, who went 6 for 10 on his way to 22 points and five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Caleb Cabrera, who posted 12 points.

Faith Lutheran has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season. As for Spanish Fork, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-6 record this season.

Faith Lutheran and Rancho Bernardo will round out the year against one another at at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Spanish Fork, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Farmington at 1:00 p.m. on December 30th. Spanish Fork is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 57.2 points per game this season.
