Escalon is 10-0 against Hilmar since January of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Escalon Cougars will face off against the Hilmar Yellowjackets at 7:00 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

It was a proper cat-fight when Escalon took on Sonora on Wednesday. Escalon took a 54-50 hit to the loss column at the hands of Sonora. The Cougars haven't had much luck with the Wildcats recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.

Meanwhile, Hilmar was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were beaten by Ripon Christian 60-32. While losing is never fun, the Yellowjackets can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 1031st, while the Knights are ranked 380th).

Escalon will need focus on slowing down Aaron Solorio, one of several Hilmar players who made an impact when they last played. He posted six points in addition to five boards and three blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Xavier Silveira, who put up seven points and five rebounds.

Escalon's record now sits at 9-7. As for Hilmar, their record now sits at 4-11.

Everything came up roses for Escalon against Hilmar in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, as the team secured an 81-53 victory. Will Escalon repeat their success, or does Hilmar have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
