Softball Game Preview: L'Anse Creuse North Crusaders vs. Regina

The L'Anse Creuse North Crusaders will head out to challenge Regina at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Regina took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on L'Anse Creuse North, who comes in off a win.

On Thursday, L'Anse Creuse North was able to grind out a solid victory over Fraser, taking the game 6-1.

L'Anse Creuse North got a great performance from Sydney Browning as she didn't allow a single earned run over six innings pitched.

On the hitting side, L'Anse Creuse North let Lily Smeltzer and Erin Leverenz run wild. Smeltzer went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double, while Leverenz went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI. Emily Paling was another key player, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one run.

Meanwhile, while it was Regina who put the first runs on the board on Thursday, it was St. Ursula Academy who put up more. Regina fell just short of St. Ursula Academy by a score of 7-6.

Regina's loss dropped their record down to 7-9. As for L'Anse Creuse North, their record is now 8-9.

L'Anse Creuse North might still be hurting after the 9-1 defeat they got from Regina in their previous meeting back in May of 2015. Can the Crusaders avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
