Recap: Whitney Wildcats vs. Clifton Cubs

The Whitney Wildcats suffered their biggest loss since November 16, 2023 on Friday. They took a serious blow against Clifton, falling 61-15. Whitney was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Clifton apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January of 2023.

Clifton's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Delilah Martinez, who scored eight points along with ten rebounds and four steals. That's the first time this season that Martinez pulled down eight or more rebounds. Camy Barsh was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with six steals.

Whitney's defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 7-14. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 23.0 points per game. As for Clifton, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 15-9 record this season.

Whitney will be playing at home against Keene at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Keene is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak. As for Clifton, they will head out on the road to take on West at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. West will be looking to extend their current 14-game winning streak.
