Preview: Daingerfield Tigers vs. Pewitt Brahmas
Daingerfield is 9-0 against Pewitt since February of 2015, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Daingerfield Tigers will be home for the holidays to greet the Pewitt Brahmas at 6:00 p.m. Daingerfield comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
Last Tuesday, things could have been worse for Daingerfield, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 60-41 loss to Jefferson. Daingerfield has struggled against Jefferson recently, as their contest on Tuesday was their ninth consecutive lost matchup.
Meanwhile, Pewitt came up short against Mount Vernon on Tuesday and fell 56-47. Pewitt has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Cedric Johnson, who scored 15 points along with three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Wooda Betts, who scored 12 points.
Daingerfield's defeat dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Pewitt, they bumped their record down to 7-9 with that loss, which was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season.
Daingerfield took their victory against Pewitt in their previous meeting back in December of 2022 by a conclusive 74-52. With Daingerfield ahead 48-28 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.
