Baseball Recap: Hudson Victorious

While Hudson's win against Center wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Hornets won by a run and slipped past the Roughriders 5-4. The victory continues a trend for the Hornets in their matchups with the Roughriders: they've now won six in a row.

Hudson got a great performance from Ceylan Williams as he struck out ten batters over 6.2 innings while giving up just two earned (and 42 unearned) runs off five hits. Williams is becoming a predictor of the Hornets' success: when he posts at least eight strikeouts the team is undefeated (and 9-11-1 when he doesn't).

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Cutter Warren, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3. Levi Slatter was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.

Hudson now has a winning record of 12-11-1. As for Center, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-12.

Hudson will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Roughriders: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
