Baseball Recap: Joel Barlow Comes Up Short

Joel Barlow easily dispatched Kolbe-Cathedral on Monday, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. The Falcons fell just short of the New Fairfield Rebels by a score of 3-1 on Tuesday. The Falcons were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Rebels apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in May of 2024.

TJ Baer made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with two doubles and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Logan Kady, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base.

Joel Barlow has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 16-5 record this season. Even worse, they were so close so many times: the losses came by an average of only two runs. As for New Fairfield, they pushed their record up to 10-10 with the victory, which was their third straight at home.

Joel Barlow does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for New Fairfield, they will challenge Immaculate at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
