Baseball Recap: Shepard Comes Up Short

Shepard fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against Wilmington on Saturday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Wildcats by a score of 6-4. The Astros have struggled against the Wildcats recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Shepard's defeat dropped their record down to 11-14. As for Wilmington, their victory was their seventh straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 16-5-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Shepard will head out to square off against Richards at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Astros will need to watch out since the Bulldogs have now posted at least ten runs in their last three matchups. As for Wilmington, they are taking a road trip to challenge Streator at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
