Baseball Game Preview: River Valley Falcons vs. Yuba City Honkers

River Valley hasn't had much luck against Yuba City recently, but that could start to change on Monday. River Valley is taking a road trip to take on Yuba City at 6:00 p.m. River Valley has given up an average of 10.2 runs per game this season, but Monday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

River Valley is headed into Monday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their ninth straight game on Friday. They lost 14-0 to Roseville. That's two games in a row now that the Falcons have lost by exactly 14 runs.

Meanwhile, Yuba City entered their tilt with Twelve Bridges on Friday with six consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with seven. They had just enough and edged out the Raging Rhinos 8-6.

The team relied heavily on Brandon Pelechowicz, who scored a run while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. Max Guth also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Yuba City's victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-2. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.6 runs over those games. As for River Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-11.

River Valley might still be hurting after the 10-0 loss they got from Yuba City in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. Can River Valley avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
