Baseball Recap: West Ashley Takes a Loss

West Ashley was the 7-3 winner over Sumter when they last played one another on Tuesday, but their luck changed this time around. The Wildcats fell 12-9 to the Gamecocks on Thursday. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last three times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Kory Brame made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double. That double marked the first that he has hit this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Kolin Rundel, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

West Ashley's defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 11-17. As for Sumter, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a massive bump to their 14-10-1 record this season.

As of now, neither West Ashley nor Sumter have any future games scheduled.
