Recap: Omaha Northwest Huskies vs. Omaha Westside Warriors

This season hasn't been kind to the Omaha Northwest Huskies, who are still winless after their fourth contest. They took a serious blow against Omaha Westside on Friday, falling 87-44. Omaha Northwest has not had much luck with Omaha Westside recently, as the team's come up short the last eight times they've met.

Several Huskies players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Michael DuBose, who scored seven points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points DuBose has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Tony Smith, who scored ten points.

Omaha Northwest struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only three offensive rebounds. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.

Omaha Westside got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Kevin Stubblefield out in front who scored 11 points along with three steals. The match was Stubblefield's fifth in a row with at least ten points. Rickey Loftin was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with three steals.

Omaha Northwest's defeat dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Omaha Westside, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 5-0.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Omaha Northwest won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Kearney at 4:15 p.m. on December 16th. Hopefully Kearney focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up eight on Tuesday. Omaha Westside's road trip will continue as they head out to face Lincoln Southeast at 7:30 p.m. on December 19th.
