Softball Recap: King George Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for King George, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Spotsylvania Knights by a score of 7-2 on Friday. The Foxes haven't had any issues with the Knights recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Kelsea Minter made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 13 batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off six hits (and only one walk). That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in May of 2024. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-5 with one home run. That home run marked the first that she has launched this season.

In other batting news, Paige Headley was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two runs and two doubles. Natalee Creveling was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three RBI and one double.

King George kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They are 2-1 when they post 11 or more hits.

The win got King George back to even at 5-5. As for Spotsylvania, with the defeat, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 5-2.

King George will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Knights: the pair will be back at it again later today.
