Basketball Game Preview: Lanphier Lions vs. Normal University Pioneers

The Lanphier Lions will challenge the Normal University Pioneers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Lanphier knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past four matchups -- so hopefully Normal University likes a good challenge.

Last Tuesday, Lanphier was able to grind out a solid victory over Glenwood, taking the game 58-49.

Meanwhile, Normal University was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Saturday as they fell 54-48 to Decatur Eisenhower.

Lanphier has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 18-9 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.4 points per game. As for Normal University, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 13-12 record this season.
