Softball Game Preview: Greater Cabarrus S Stallions vs. Hickory Grove Christian Lions

Greater Cabarrus S hasn't had much luck against Hickory Grove Christian recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Stallions will challenge the Lions at 4:30 p.m. Greater Cabarrus S will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each matchup than the last.

On Thursday, Greater Cabarrus S was able to grind out a solid victory over Metrolina Christian Academy, taking the game 13-8.

Forsyth Home Educators hit Hickory Grove Christian with a four-run seventh inning on Tuesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Lions came up short against the Hawks, falling 12-1. Having soared to a lofty 15 runs in the game before, the Lions couldn't push the score so high this time.

Hickory Grove Christian has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-11 record this season. As for Greater Cabarrus S, their win bumped their record up to 10-12.

Greater Cabarrus S suffered a grim 16-1 defeat to Hickory Grove Christian in their previous matchup back in April of 2023. Can the Stallions avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
