Basketball Recap: Harnett Central Takes a Loss

Harnett Central was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They had to suffer through a 74-12 loss at the hands of the Terry Sanford Bulldogs. While losing is never fun, the Trojans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 561st, while the Bulldogs are ranked 22nd).

Ameya Brown continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Terry Sanford, going 8 of 16 on her way to 19 points and eight steals. Brown has been hot for a while, having posted two or more steals the last 14 times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaidiah Blake, who went 5 of 11 en route to 11 points and eight steals.

Harnett Central's defeat dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Terry Sanford, their win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-2.

Harnett Central will face off against Overhills at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Overhills has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Terry Sanford, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 73-35 victory against South View on the 4th.
